The Truth About Rock Hard Abs
By admin | August 5, 2008
Rock hard abs is something almost everyone who works out wants to get. There may be nothing sexier than rock hard abs or a lean, flat stomach on a man or woman.
Are you doing endless ab exercises to get six pack abs and a lean sexy stomach?
The truth is, if you want to get sexy abs, lots and lots of ab exercises aren’t going to do it for you.
Endless crunches or 6 minutes a day in the ab lounger will not give you the ripped abs you’re looking for.
Neither will the bender ball! I saw this infomercial the other day and cringed.
The secret to rock hard abs is NOT the bender ball. It’s not the ab rocket, the ab lounge or the ab roller.
Rock hard abs come from a well thought out fitness plan that includes weight training, cardio, and a proper nutrition plan designed to lose fat.
Sure, you need to train your abs, but not nearly as often as you think. And training your abs won’t take away the layer of fat that is concealing them.
Most people have abs. You work your abs all day long in almost everything you do.
You just can’t see them because they’re covered by ugly, disgusting body fat! Remove the fat and you’ll have a flat stomach and sexy abs.
And that means burning calories. Ab exercises don’t burn a whole lot of calories.
High intensity interval training burns calories.
Properly conducted high intensity weight training burns calories.
Combine the weight training with the cardio, eat properly, and you’ll get rock hard abs.
As far as training the abs themselves, they should be part of your weight training program.
And you should train them with progressive resistance they same way you train your other body parts.
Keep your reps in the 15 - 30 range and use weight. If you’re doing crunches on the floor, hold a dumbbell or weight over your chest.
Or better yet, if you’re training in the gym use an ab machine that allows you to increase the resistance.
Doing nothing but ab exercises on infomercial ab training gizmos isn’t going to give you rock hard abs. Proper weight training, cardio and nutrition will.
