The 3 A’s of Fitness Success

By admin | August 4, 2008

I know, it’s been awhile since a new fitness post. Sorry about that. It’s been a hectic time.

I’ve been digging into a new fitness program I’m putting together and I’m really excited about it. It’s been taking up most of my time.

But I’m back on track for more regular fitness info right here.

Do you know what a pack rat is? Well, let me tell you, my grandmother was a pack rat!

She passed away in January, about a month shy of her 93rd birthday and she lived independently right up until the end. Good for her!

I’ve been helping clean out her place and wow! She kept everything!

You people who buy a piece of exercise equipment and let it gather dust in the corner have nothing on her.

I mean, not just birthday cards and the like from years ago, but the empty envelopes as well.

She didn’t throw ANYTHING out.

THAT is a pack rat.

About the same time, my brother in law seemed to need help moving, picking up, and doing anything else with furniture that involved my lower back. Ouch.

So what’s the point, right?

Sometimes you have to adapt and alter your schedule to fit in those unpredictable things that are a part of life.

Your circumstances for your fitness program will never be ideal. Accept it and deal with it accordingly.

Don’t let life become an excuse. Make the changes you need to make and keep moving forward.

While doing all this, I was doing a lot of heavy lifting and I don’t mean weight training.

Needless to say, I dropped deadlifts and squats from my weight training routine so my lower back could recover.

I did leg presses for my legs (not as good as squats but it took my poor lower back out of the equation).

Don’t let obstacles stop you.

Oh yeah. The three A’s of fitness success.

Adjust. Adapt. Achieve.
